Description
These turkey burgers are a healthy and delicious option, made with ground turkey, fresh vegetables, and seasonings. They are perfect for a light meal or a summer barbecue.
INGREDIENTS

Egg | 1 3/5 | |
Red Onion | 4/5 | large, 1/2 diced, 1/4 thinly sliced |
Garlic | 3 1/5 clove | minced |
Italian Parsley | 2/5 cup | fresh, flat leaf |
Ground Flax Seeds | 1/5 cup | |
Coconut Oil | 1 3/5 tbsp | |
Lettuce | 4/5 head | whole leaves removed, romaine, red or butter lettuce |
Avocado | 4/5 | sliced, optional |
Tomato | 4/5 | sliced, optional |
Salt | 2/5 tsp | or to taste |
Pepper | several grinds |
PREPARATION
- Combine turkey, eggs, onion, garlic, parsley, flax and salt & pepper in a large mixing bowl and mix well.
- Scoop about 1/2 cup of mixture at a time and shape into a patty. Set aside on a plate.
- Heat coconut oil in a cast iron or a wide, heavy-bottomed saucepan and lay burgers in hot oil. Let cook on medium for about 6 minutes, then flip and cook for another 6 minutes, until burgers are lightly browned on the outside and cooked sufficiently through the center.
- Serve on lettuce leaves, with optional avocado, tomato, onion and your choice of condiments. (recipe for Olive Oil Mayonnaise can be found here)
SUGGESTIONS
- Double the recipe for more patties that can be saved for a leftovers or crumbled over a salad.
