Description
This Spicy Escarole recipe combines tender greens with garlic, toasted pine nuts, and a kick of red pepper flakes, creating a flavorful and healthy dish perfect for any meal.
INGREDIENTS
Serves 4 people

Bone Broth | 1/2 cup | |
Red Pepper Flakes | 1/4 tsp | |
Escarole | 1 head | rinsed, dried, coarsely chopped |
Garlic | 4 clove | finely chopped |
Olive Oil | 1 1/2 tbsp | |
Pine Nuts | 1/4 cup | |
Pepper | 1/8 tsp | freshly ground |
Salt | 1/4 tsp |
PREPARATION
- Toast pine nuts in a small cast iron skillet for about 2 minutes or until nicely golden brown
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat
- Add garlic and saute for 2-3 minutes
- Add escarole and cook for 5 minutes or until it begins to wilt, stirring consistently
- Add bone broth and chili flakes
- Cook stirring occasionally for another 5 minutes or so
- Add salt and pepper, stirring to season evenly and cook for another minute
- Take off heat and add toasted pine nuts before serving
SUGGESTIONS
- I like my food spicy so I sprinkled a pinch of extra chili flakes on the escarole before serving
